Ive recently gotten into a habit of listening to audio books as I work, and just got done with Dune. I had been avoiding reading it for years, since I had grown up with the film. Although it was interesting to see the direction David Lynch took the adaptation, the book is far more Entertaining. Starting on the Foundation series next....all 90+ hours of it :D

The Drifter is the main character in the Terra Nova project i've been working on. He is a Legionnaire deserter, who has been living off the hostile Terran landscape for years, mingling with the locales and wandering around aimlessly.... this is just some playing around trying to find some sort of iconic look for him, probably nowhere close to what he'll end up looking like... these are always so fun to do! :D

Some sort of assassin character, working on gray-scales and limited color palettes. the dials on his ribs are supposed to be a kind of adrenal pump, that could give him boosts of speed and strength. Also a reinforced spine, for more movement of the torso, kinda like Aeon flux, along with night vision gear, and all that spy/ninja goodness... :D

Some stuff i have been working on, just some tonal studies on character designs, i have been working more and more on establishing tone before jumping into color. there is also something i love about lining contrasting characters up next to each other, very odd groupings of strange folks:) There are also some semi portraits in here, although they weren't intended to be, but like most people i learned to draw faces by looking at my own, so i thought it would be funny to collect all of my heads that have been floating around my sketchbook...
